LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

La Chapelle D'Abondance is a traditional Savoyard village, where the monks still make Abondance cheese to an ancient recipe.  There are various shops, a tourist information centre, cafes, bars, restaurants and a cinema.  The village is a beautiful location for your "Alpine Escape" in both summer; for walking and climbing and in the winter for all winter sports. 

The nearest town is La Châtel, which is five minutes away. Here you will find a bustling atmosphere, vibrant bars, many restaurants, gift shops, a large supermarket, snow park, snowshoe hiking, ice rink (Winter only), gym, cinema, outdoor pool (Summer only) and open air concerts.

By basing yourself in the Abondance Valley you can take advantage of its superb proximity to Lake Geneva.  Here you can sail in the morning, sunbath on a beach in the afternoon, spend an hour or two in the Evian Spa, shop in Geneva's designer boutiques and then in the evening, have a meal by the shores of this most famous lake.
